Deryk Van Brunt, DrPh
Deryk Van Brunt is the co-founder and CEO of CredibleMind, as well as the President and CEO of the Healthy Communities Foundation, a nonprofit organization. He is also a faculty member at the University of California, Berkeley, where he teaches Health Informatics with a focus on clinical, personal, and community health information systems. His research centers on individual and community health, particularly in three areas: (1) mental, emotional, and spiritual health and wellbeing, (2) chronic care management, and (3) population health improvement.
CredibleMind, under Van Brunt’s leadership, provides organizations like employers, health plans, hospitals, and health departments with a mental health information system designed to promote emotional wellbeing and mental health. The platform focuses on prevention and early intervention, aiming to help populations thrive and avoid the need for more intensive mental health care down the road.
Dr. Van Brunt has overseen the development and implementation of clinical and patient-centered health information systems in over 500 healthcare institutions. His expertise has earned him several awards, including the Health 2.0 Outstanding Leadership Award in 2022. He has published numerous health-related articles and holds both an MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and a DrPH in Health Informatics from UC Berkeley.
Shimar Clements, MSW
Shimar Clements is the Research & Data Coordinator at CredibleMind, where she plays a pivotal role in managing and analyzing data to support mental wellbeing initiatives. With a Master of Social Work and a Graduate Public Health Certificate, Shimar brings well-rounded expertise in both social services and public health. She has been instrumental in the Monterey County, CA Help at Hand SmartScreen Project, where she applied her skills to enhance community health outcomes through innovative data solutions. Her dedication to evidence-based practices and data-driven insights continues to drive impactful projects at CredibleMind.
